CSIR UGC NET 2024 Exams
The CSIR UGC NET exams are conducted by the national testing agency in order to promote research and teaching in Indian universities and colleges. The main objectives of these exams are:
- Candidates who are eligible for stipend to support their research work in various institutions will be awarded a Junior Research Fellowship (JRF)
- Candidates who apply for these exams and score the required marks will be appointed as assistant professors
- Candidates who have qualified the NET exams can get admission in colleges that provide Ph.D. degree to the eligible candidates
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates attending these exams must have completed a Master’s degree with a minimum of 55% marks for candidates who belong to the general and EWS categories. Candidates belonging to the SC/ST/PwBD should score minimum marks of 50% in the Master’s degree. Candidates who are currently attending their Master’s degree can also attend the exam.
Candidates applying for the JRF exams must be 30 years of age maximum, and age relaxation of 5 years is given for reserved categories. Candidates applying for the assistant professor position have no age limit.
